let's play with the waterboard
kidnap, imprisonment and torture
let's play with the attack drone
remote murder from the comfort of yer own home
maybe it's me suffering from crass complacency
maybe it's you letting them get away with the things that they do
maybe it's us taking everything they say on trust
maybe it's them
let's play with the tazer gun
make 'em dance! make it fun!
let's play with the cluster bomb
amunition that goes on and on and on
let's play depleted uranium

let's play with the whitewash
the least happens to the ones that do most
maybe it's me suffering from crass complacency
maybe it's you letting them get away with the things that they do
maybe it's us taking everything they say on trust
maybe it's them

sheep

we must be fucking mad
do we really think they give a shit about us and our families?
or are they really in it for them fucking selves
remember 47 percent of 'em come from a privileged background
so what do you reckon us or them?
I mean. when will it start worrying us?
what needs to happen before we think enough is enough
and actually get off our arses and try to do something about it?
well it can't be state-sponsored kidnap, torture and execution without trial
because they're already fucking doing that and nobody so much as bats an ipad
we're all sheep
and we sell ourselves far too cheap
tweet your tweet and then go back to sleep
your compliance is a real treat
so what do we do about it? where do we start?
how do we mobilise entire generations that have been succoured into total submission
and get them to send a message that enough is enough
without actually expecting them to do anything?
is there a way to harness inaction, and make it action?
is there a way to achieve something, by doing nothing?
some say that If voting actually changed anything they'd abolish it
that whichever way you vote the governments always win
you see, they get their mandate through elections
so if this is how we give them their power
this is also how we can take it away
we simply stop taking part.
well, what if the next time they want our vote we all stay at home?
what if we refuse to endorse them until they radically change?
what if we turn our backs and watch the telly instead?
or read a book? or make love? or play a video game?
and what if we encourage everybody else to do the same?
what if they held a general election and nobody came?
we're all sheep
and we could at least start to bleat
time to wake up from your lovely sleep
non-compliance will have them beat
